Prime Time (50+) Ministries

Prime Time (50+) Ministries is an exciting and growing ministry in the Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland & Labrador. Statistics tell us that we are living in a culture of an aging population. We recognize that the larger percentage of our population is of the 50 plus age group. Our goal as Prime Time (50+) Ministries is to harness the potential for ministry among this group throughout our province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Someone has said, ‘How you start is not as important as how you finish!’ We want each ‘50 Pluser’ in our churches to FINISH WELL! We want to assist any and all of those who are interested in being involved in this ministry in your local church.

This ministry will not become a ‘cookie cutter’ model (where each group will look, act and be the same). This ministry must become ‘tailor made’ (look, act, be what best fits your church and town).

Mission Statement

Prime Time (50+) Ministries of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland and Labrador provides opportunities for enrichment, enhancement and affirmation through purposeful instruction, fellowship, service and worship.

Prime Time (50+) Ministries want to promote the following Core Values:

1. To recognize the value and worth of persons approaching mid to later years of living.

2. To remind all that productivity does not diminish with age and intellect.

3. That leaders become more age sensitive in a time of intense children and youth focus so that “no one is left behind.”

4. To engage ALL age brackets for those 50 plus and older recognizing that the word senior does not describe the middle adults of today.

5. That it is Biblical and God honouring to show respect and honour to our “Elders.”

6. That we raise awareness of the epidemic of loneliness for those 50 plus within our church and community who may feel marginalized and excluded.

7. Address the stigma and stereotyping of seniors in what is now called “ageism.”

Catherine Snow, Provincial Director

Our Director for Prime Time (50+) Ministries is Pastor Catherine Snow. She has been serving in this role since 2018 and is passionate about the discipleship and mentoring elements of Prime Time (50+) Ministries. Events

Every year, in the month of June, the Prime Time (50+) Ministries team hosts a Prime Time (50+) Retreat at the Emmanuel Convention Centre in Lewisporte, NL. This is an event that features times of worship, studying the Word, and activities. It is a great opportunity to meet other mature adults in the province.
